From the tender age of 5, Anup was exposed to yoga and even learnt the style directly from Sharath Jois (Grandson of Ashtanga founder Sri Pattabi Jois). While growing up, he was inspired by his spiritual and Philosophy teacher Sri. Ram Sharma and his parents to teach yoga and took on a teaching internship with Master Ajay Tokas.

The internship experience was immense and Anup was determined to inspire and share the benefits of yoga with others. He embarked on the journey to teach and has since being to India, China and now Singapore. Anup is now, recognised as one of the youngest full-fledged Ashtanga teachers globally.

While in China, he conducted workshops and the Ashtanga Mysore programme (Guangzhou, Xiamen, Nanning and Harbin). In time, he took a liking to the Chinese language and even learnt the language well enough to converse comfortably in Mandarin.

Known for his unique charm and style of teaching yoga, Anup pays great attention to details and his classes are always filled with thought-provoking concepts.

“The practice of yoga is never a competition, but a journey of self-discovery. Having faith, patience, and consistency is key in paving the way for a fruitful and fulfilling practice”.
